It sets off from the village of Soto, in Sobrescobio, among granaries and wooden balconies, and follows the Alba river up a gorge declared a Natural Monument. From the second kilometre the water takes over: pools, backwaters, falls and springs, one after another.
The most spectacular stretch is the Llaímo gorge, where the path narrows between limestone walls and crosses the river on old stone bridges. It ends at Cruz de los Ríos, a meadow surrounded by beech woods.

Getting there
By car
Forty-five minutes from the house, towards the Nalón valley and Redes. It starts in Soto de Agues.
Before you go
- It takes a full day: almost fourteen kilometres there and back, and more than five hours.
- You come back the same way, so you can turn round wherever you like.
- There are springs along the way. Bring your own food.
